Elderly Affairs

The East Providence Police Department is committed to protecting the safety, dignity, and well-being of our older residents. Our Elderly Affairs Officer serves as a dedicated resource for seniors, their families, and caregivers by providing support, guidance, and connections to community services.

The Elderly Affairs Officer works closely with local, state, and community partners to:

  • Respond to concerns involving elder abuse, neglect, exploitation, or self-neglect.
  • Conduct welfare checks and assist vulnerable older adults.
  • Connect seniors and caregivers with available services and resources.
  • Collaborate with the Rhode Island Office of Healthy Aging and other agencies to ensure seniors receive the assistance they need.
  • Promote education and awareness to help older adults remain safe, healthy, and independent.

If you are concerned about the welfare of an older adult or believe someone may be experiencing abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation, please contact the East Providence Police Department. Our department is committed to ensuring every senior is treated with compassion, respect, and the care they deserve.
